Banker joins Tompkins Community's Auburn branch

Melendez, based out of the Auburn branch, brings 18 years of experience to his new role and formerly worked with Solvay Bank. Additionally, he is a notary of public and holds a dual degree in telecommunications and communications with a minor in finance. He resides in Syracuse with his daughter and is an active member of his community, serving on the Cayuga County Board of Literacy, as a trainer and educator for Home HeadQuarters of Syracuse, and Cayuga County Chairman of Ambassadors Council for the Chamber of Commerce. He has formerly served as the president of the Cayuga County Habitat for Humanity.

Mannion announces $108,300 for legal aid organizations

Company news: Christopher Community Inc. announces four new hires

Jenna McClave was hired as development project manager. She is a life resident of Syracuse and for decades worked for local nonprofit organizations, most recently Home HeadQuarters, Inc., where she started as senior lending administrator before moving into their home ownership department to run the pre-purchase home buyer education program. McClave is a HUD-certified housing counselor and spent the last three years as manager of the Syracuse Financial Empowerment Center leading a team of counselors to assist more than 1,000 Central New York residents to achieve many outcomes, most notably reducing their debt by more than $2.6 million.
