On Sept. 14, Home HeadQuarters (HHQ), along with 320 volunteers from area businesses, schools, churches, local government and more, joined Elmwood Park residents in a one-day, rain-or-shine effort called the Block Blitz. In its 12th year, the Block Blitz is HHQs' version of a fundraiser. Volunteers and contractors -- all sponsored by their organizations or donating their skilled services -- paint fences, rebuild porches, plant trees, seal driveways, fix steps, plant flowers, remove brush and more, all in the name of supporting our community and HHQs' affordable housing and lending efforts.”
